The Violin

Valeria Caponnetto, violinist, was born in Sicily in 1987. She began her musical studies in Catania, graduating in 2010. Always passionate about seventeenth and eighteenth-century repertoire, she began studying the baroque violin in 2010 at the Department of Early Music in Palermo under the guidance of M° Enrico Onofri, earning her master with highest honors in April 2015.

In September 2014 she was admitted to the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, attending a Master’s course with Mira Glodeanu and Alessandro Moccia. She got her master on juin 2017.

 In 2012 and 2013 she was admitted to the ‘European Baroque Academy of Ambronay’ taking part in two European tours .

 

In May 2015 she was admitted as trainee for “Holland Baroque” in Utrecht, having the chance to work with them in different projects for one year.

She actively collaborates with various ensembles around Europe: “Cappella Mediterranea” (Geneva) directed by Leonardo Garcia Alarcon, Bremer Barockorchester (Bremen), the ensemble “L’armonia degli affetti” (Geneva), the “ensemble Hemiolia” ( Paris), L ‘”Arianna Art Ensemble” and “Ensemble Antonio il Verso” (Palermo), “ Divino Sospiro” (Lisbon) , “Coro e Orchestra del Collegio Ghislieri” (Pavia), “Giardino di Delizie” (Rome), “Musica Antiqua Roma” performing in major European baroque festival (Festival of Ambronay, La Valletta International Baroque Festival, Festival of Aix en Provence and others).
