Giorgia Zanin (Vicenza, 1997) began studying lute in 2010 at the Conservatory of Music “A. Pedrollo” of Vicenza under the guidance of Terrell Stone with whom she will graduate in February 2021.

She studied with Joachim Held and Mike Fentros too and attended international masterclasses with Hopkinson Smith, Joachim Held, Jonathan Rubin and Rafael Muñoz.

She took part in several important Festivals such as “I Fiori Musicali”, “I martedì al Conservatorio”, “All’Olimpico col Pedrollo”, “Antichi suoni alle gallerie” (Vicenza), “Sostenibilità ad arte” (Milano) performing “L ‘Estro Armonico” by A. Vivaldi directed by F. Bonizzoni, “ResoNet Festival” (Modena), “Musica Antica ad Arcugnano”, “Asolo Matinée”, “Note Dipinte” (Bassano), “Maggio Musicale in Abbazia” (Verona), “Love in time of war” (Den Haag, performing music by C. Monteverdi directed by M. Chance).

In 2018 she joined the ONBCI (National Baroque Orchestra of the Italian Conservatories) with which she performed in “Roma Festival Barocco” (in the same year, directed by A. Florio performing music by L. Vinci and D. Sarro and in 2019 with music by F. Gasparini directed by P. Perrone) and at “Teatro Massimo” (Palermo, June 2019) where she performed the “Santa Rosalia” by B. Aliotti directed by E. Onofri.

 

In September 2018, as a member of the ensemble “O Vive Rose”, she won the Second Prize and the Special Mention in the “Premio Fatima Terzo” competition.

She won with the “Chroma Baroque Ensemble”, the First Place at “Bertinoro Summer Festival Competition” held by “La Risonanza Barocca” and she qualified for the Ensemble Final at the “Premio Nazionale delle Arti” and for the final at the TARF3 (Tel Aviv Recorder Festival, both in the “Ensemble” category and in the “Best interpretation of an Israeli song” category).

 In October 2019, she has been selected to performing with the mezzo-soprano Elisa De Toffol the “Lamento di Arianna” by Monteverdi at “Podium Witteman” (a dutch live television program for young talent) and few months later she obtained a second broadcast as “one of the Best Performance of 2019”.

In January 2020, she participated, as a theorbist, in the “Gospel-Baroque Tour” with the Holland Baroque Orchestra and the London Community Gospel Choir playing in the most important dutch concert halls (Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Haarlem, Heerlen, Groningen, Tilburg, Arnhem).
